Joining us this week on the podcast we have, the M45 110m hurdle world champion Gary Smith, another local Luton based athlete who’s still pushing his body to the limit as he gears up for the M50 world championships, we caught up with him as he just come off the back of breaking the 60m indoor record and, as he prepares for two championships coming up in 2022. He takes us through his life from how he got started in the sport to balancing a family, business, and track and field. With having a career threatening injury in 2004 which led to early retirement, he shares his experiences about getting through the dark times to defy the odds, and has a truly incredible comeback story which is far from finished.
